SIReNa - Sciences et Ingénierie des Ressources Naturelles
14 laboratories of the Université de Lorraine, the INRAE , the CNRS and AgroParisTech have joined forces to form a resolutely transversal Doctoral School, covering the entire life cycle of mineral and biological materials while respecting and serving humankind and its environment:
• Knowledge of the natural system,
• Origins of resources (mineral and energy raw materials, water, soil, agricultural production, forestry and wood),
• Sustainable exploitation and management of resources,
• Waste assessment, treatment and management,
• Health, food and environmental safety, risk control.

The industrial and professional sectors concerned are:
• Forestry and wood
• Agriculture and agrifood
• Mineral industry
• Energy
• Civil engineering
• Waste
• Water
• Safety
The professional future and understanding and solving major Scientific, Technical and Societal problems are among the expectations of PhD students. SIReNa Doctoral School aims to meet these expectations and break free from traditional disciplinary divisions by placing the word "School" at the centre of its action for training through research and for research. These principles are underpinned by an appropriate philosophy and structure, particularly in the concern for the future of doctors.
Operation
The doctoral school board is made up of the Director of ED, the Director of AgroParisTech Nancy, the Director of INRAE, the Directors of the A2F and OTELo scientific clusters, elected doctoral students, HDR representatives from the laboratories, representatives of technical staff and representatives of employment sectors.
The board meets several times a year to deal with issues related to the functioning of the doctoral school (training, budget, HDR, communication...). You can consult the minutes by downloading them from the links below.
