Risques Psycho-Sociaux EN

Psychosocial Risks (RPS)

If the doctoral student experiences serious problems (conflict, harassment…), he/she can, depending on his/her situation, find assistance from various people.

The Head of the Research Unit and the Head of the Doctoral School are the first contact people within the institution. The Doctoral School administrative managers at My Doc’ Door are also very accessible and competent people.

If the doctoral student feels more comfortable talking to other doctoral students, he/she can contact his/her elected representatives within the various doctoral-related bodies (research units, doctoral school, CLED) or a doctoral student association if necessary.

The frequent meetings with the Individual Monitoring Committee that are part of the doctoral program itself, also give the doctoral student the opportunity to discuss issues with members whose role is to assess the overall conduct of the doctoral student’s course, from an external point of view.

If mediation proves necessary, Article 11 of the Doctoral Charter of the Université de Lorraine describes procedures that can be implemented: monitoring committee intervention, help of the Head of the Research Unit and ultimately, the nomination by the Scientific Council, of a mediator.

More generally, the Université de Lorraine set up two specific listening and counselling services:
-one relating to sexual harassment and discriminations
-the other relating to psychological harassment

Both services are presented on the website of the Université de Lorraine.

Among the difficulties that may arise, some may concern ethics and scientific integrity: on this point, it is always possible to consult the following support service set up by the Université de Lorraine: delegation-integrite-scientifique@univ-lorraine.fr
(https://www.univ-lorraine.fr/recherche-et-innovation/integrite-scientifique/)

In general, the universities have set up a «Santé Psy étudiants» system which allows students enrolled in a training program at the University to benefit from free consultations with a psychologist.

To access this service, at the Université de Lorraine, you should go through one of the different offices of the university's medical services:
- in Metz, on the Île du Saulcy site: 03 72 74 05 40
- in Nancy, on the Campus Lettres, Sciences Humaines site: 03 72 74 05 71
- in Vandoeuvre, on the Vélodrome site : 03 72 74 05 51
