PhD life

Devoting at least three years of your life to a doctoral project is not limited to purely formative activities! On various points, you are invited to participate in other activities related to PhD life.

•  Within the institutional framework, each PhD student is represented and can be elected as a representative in various institutional bodies: laboratory council, doctoral school council, scientific pole council, scientific council...

• You can participate in associative activities: there are already associations in several doctoral schools, and it is up to you to create your own or to join one that already exists! The University Life teams at the Université de Lorraine are able to advise you and there are funding mechanisms for projects.

• My Doc' Door also organizes activities for PhD students: visits and sports activities. Monthly events are also organized, such as virtual meetings between PhD students to discuss issues related to your thesis, afterworks and other projects carried out in partnership with the PhD student associations mentioned above.

• Whether you are an international PhD student or you would like to welcome an international PhD student who has just arrived in Lorraine: join the Buddy System!

Each year, My Doc' Door recruits a PhD student to co-organize activities related to PhD life and, in particular, to animate the group of PhD students at the University of Lorraine on Facebook.
